Abstract

This is a first-hand account of navigating racism in the mental health field, as told by Nikki, with Jackie Gagliardi, NEJRSP Editor, as the interviewer.

Author Biography

Jacqueline Gagliardi

Jackie Gagliardi is a licensed marriage and family therapist, clinical supervisor, consultant and co-author of the Study-Guide for the Marriage and Family Therapy National Licensing Examination. She is on the faculty at William James College in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling department and is the director of the Couples and Family Therapy program. She has a private practice specializing in individual, couple and family therapy. She is an AAMFT approved supervisor, a past board member of the Massachusetts Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a member of NEAFAST. She received the Massachusetts Association of
Marriage and Family Therapy Award for Outstanding Contribution to the field of Marriage and Family Therapy. Currently she is serving on the Board of Allied Mental Health.
